Dr. Christine Miles (she/her) is a strong advocate for education policy and practice that lead to a more equitable and just society. She believes in the significance of two-way communication and deeply values the voices, passions, purpose, and experiences of those with whom she connects. In everything she does, Chrissi aims to supportively cultivate teams that harness the power of collaborative teamwork, fiercely advocate for what is right, and inspire others to walk side-by-side in this important work.
Chrissi has served as an educator— teaching in classrooms ranging from the middle level through the doctoral program level— in addition to serving as a school administrator and curriculum supervisor. As a co-founder of the Bammy Award-winning Edcamp, Chrissi served on the executive board of the Edcamp Foundation, a nonprofit organization designed to facilitate local, grassroots, participant-driven professional development opportunities for educators worldwide.
During her time as Director of Consulting Services with Grant Wiggins’ Authentic Education, Chrissi led project proposal development and managed Authentic Education’s highly skilled and professional consultant team. She led large-scale Understanding by Design focused curriculum design, professional development, and coaching projects. In Chrissi’s current role as an Associate Director of Professional Development & Instructional Issues with the New Jersey Education Association, she advocates for strong education policy, designs engaging and impactful professional learning experiences for educators, and collaborates on large-scale projects and organizational designs. Chrissi holds an Ed.D. (Organizational Leadership & Innovation) and M.A. (Educational Leadership) from Wilmington University and a B.A. (English/Secondary Education) from The College of New Jersey.
